Interconnection and Decomposition Problems with Multidimensional Behaviors

چکیده
In the behavioral approach, the notion of interconnection is the basis of control. In this setting, feedback interconnection of systems is based on the still more fundamental concept of regular interconnection, which has been introduced by J.C. Willems. This paper deals with multidimensional systems, in particular systems described by linear, constant coefficient partial differential equations. The following problem is addressed: given a plant, under what conditions does there exist a controller such that their interconnection is regular, and has finite codimension with respect to a certain desired system. If it exists, provide a constructive solution to the problem. The second part of this paper treats the related problem of decomposition of systems. First, we study the problem of decomposing the system into its controllable part and an autonomous subsystem, and finally we study decompositions of the controllable part.

A Generalized Tracking and Disturbance Rejection Problem for Multidimensional Behaviors
In this paper we study a generalized tracking and disturbance rejection problem for multidimensional behaviours. Given a multidimensional plant, our first goal is to design a compensator to be connected to the plant through regular partial interconnection, in such a way that the overall controlled system is autonomous and stable, when no exogenous signal acts on the system. On the other hand, w...
متن کاملInterconnection and control of multidimensional systems using latent variables
In the nD case, a relationship between control viewed as system interconnection and trajectory control can be obtained in terms of the notion of extended interconnection. Such an interconnection corresponds to the introduction of latent variables in the descriptions of the relevant behaviors. In this paper we define different types of extended interconnections and characterize the corresponding...
متن کاملRegular Almost Interconnection of Multidimensional Behaviors * Their Multidimensional Counterparts Have Been Treated
Reading the doctoral thesis of Napp Avelli (2007) I realized that Gabriel’s localization theory, which I applied in context with the stabilization of multidimensional input/output behaviors, can also be used for the construction of regular almost interconnections of behaviors in arbitrary dimensions and not only in two dimensions. In this paper I expose this theory in the language of quotient m...

متن کاملA Theory for Total Exchange in Multidimensional Interconnection Networks
Total exchange (or multiscattering) is one of the important collective communication problems in multiprocessor interconnection networks. It involves the dissemination of distinct messages from every node to every other node. We present a novel theory for solving the problem in any multidimensional (cartesian product) network. These networks have been adopted as cost-eeective interconnection st...
